I am a Cornell trained clinical psychologist in SoHo, Manhattan specializing in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for adults and adolescents coping with a variety of symptoms and life stressors.
I also have expertise in working with patients who are coping with chronic and acute medical conditions, having completed advanced training in behavioral medicine and psycho-oncology at such facilities as Weill Cornell Medical College, Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, the Institute for Behavior Therapy, and Bellevue Hospital Cancer Center.
I offer a warm, empathic, and collaborative approach to help individuals achieve their goals within a reasonable time frame. I sometimes draw from schema, psychodynamic, meaning-based and mindfulness-based therapies to create a personalized program of treatment to best meet the needs of each individual.

She has one of the more lenient cancellation policies; I hate when care providers act like creditors and she is not one of them! Being referred to one "quack" after another I finally found someone who knows how to measure evidence based methods with results. I'm so happy I found her, truly every session makes a difference whereas I found with other professionals it's pure bs. Dr. Yacoob is handsdown the best. She has always been extremely accommodating and thoughtful.
