Dr. Julia Yacoob, Ph.D.
Licensed clinical psychologist. Doctorate from Rutgers University; fellowship training at Weill Cornell / NewYork-Presbyterian, Memorial Sloan Kettering, and Bellevue; more than fifteen years in practice.

I am a licensed clinical psychologist in Union Square, Manhattan, specializing in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) for adults coping with anxiety, stress, and a range of life challenges. Much of my practice is with professionals in demanding careers.
I also have particular expertise helping people cope with chronic and acute medical conditions, having completed advanced training in behavioral medicine and psycho-oncology at Weill Cornell Medical College, Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, the Institute for Behavior Therapy, and Bellevue Hospital Cancer Center.
My approach is warm, empathic, and collaborative, designed to help you reach your goals within a reasonable time frame. When helpful, I draw from schema, psychodynamic, meaning-based, and mindfulness-based therapies to build a personalized plan for each person.
How I work
Expect a focused, goal-oriented partnership with practical tools you can use between sessions. The practice is private-pay and out-of-network, which protects your confidentiality and keeps the work guided by clinical need rather than insurance limits.
